The Serie A round 29 match between Napoli and Lecce will take place on 14 March at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples. Napoli vs Lecce: prediction, betting odds and statistics.
Napoli
In the previous round, Napoli claimed a 2:1 home win over Torino. For the home side, this success was a second straight victory and already their 17th of the current season (5 draws, 6 defeats). However, the team conceded again — for a sixth match in a row — which once again highlights their defensive problems. Among the top seven teams in the league, Napoli have the worst record for goals conceded (29). The win over Torino, of course, did not help Antonio Conte's side close the gap to Milan — it still stands at four points — but it did allow them to increase their advantage over Como: it has now grown to five points. After 28 rounds, Napoli sit third in the Serie A standings.
Both teams to score has landed in Napoli's last six Serie A matches.
In 13 home matches this season, the team have won nine (four draws).
At least three goals have been scored in Napoli's last seven league games.
Potential Napoli Lineup (4-3-3)*
Vanja Milinkovic-Savic – Mathias Olivera, Alessandro Buongiorno, Juan Jesus – Leonardo Spinazzola, Eljif Elmas, Billy Gilmour, Matteo Politano – Alisson Santos, Antonio Vergara – Rasmus Hojlund
For injury reasons, forwards Antonio Vergara and David Neres, midfielder Scott McTominay and Stanislav Lobotka, as well as defenders Amir Rrahmani and Giovanni Di Lorenzo will miss the match.
Lecce
Despite the fact that Lecce are among the three lowest-scoring teams in the league (just 20 goals after 28 rounds), Eusebio Di Francesco's side managed to surprise in their latest match. Already in the first half against a neighbour in the standings — Cremonese — the hosts scored twice and ultimately secured a 2:1 victory. That allowed Lecce to climb out of the relegation zone and, at the same time, send one of their direct rivals in the fight for survival back into it. It is also worth adding that the club have produced no-nonsense results: in their previous six league matches, they have recorded three wins and three defeats.
In away matches in this league season, the team have failed to win 10 of 13 games (2 draws, 8 defeats).
Lecce have conceded in 11 of their previous 13 Serie A matches.
At least one side failed to score in seven of the club's last nine away matches in this tournament.
Potential Lecce Lineup (4-2-3-1)*
Wladimiro Falcone – Danilo Veiga, Jamil Siebert, Thiago Gabriel, Antonino Gallo – Ylber Ramadani, Umar Ngom – Santiago Pierotti, Lassana Coulibaly, Lameck Banda – Nikola Stulic
Midfielder Medon Berisha, defender Kialonda Gaspar and forward Francesco Camarda will miss the match due to injuries.

Napoli vs Lecce: Match Prediction
After last round's success — if, of course, a win over a neighbour near the foot of the table can be considered a serious achievement — Lecce will surely want to build on that result and try to take at least a point against the home team. However, Napoli's level is hardly comparable to Cremonese. In addition, the home side have been very confident on their own ground. This season, Conte's team have not lost at home once, and the last defeat at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium came back in round 15 of the 2024/25 season.
We think the hosts understand that mounting a serious challenge for the Scudetto this season is now unlikely. However, the team need to guarantee themselves a place in European competition and try to take the maximum points from the remaining rounds. All the more so because Napoli are no longer involved in other tournaments and can focus fully on domestic action.
It is also worth noting that in five of the last six head-to-head meetings, it was the home side who won (one draw). Therefore, the upcoming game is unlikely to be an exception — especially as Napoli are unbeaten in the league for 24 matches in a row, and the meeting with Lecce is unlikely to be the match where that run comes to an end.
Prediction: Napoli (-1)
