The Coupe de France quarter-final between Lorient and Nice will take place on 4 March at the Stade du Moustoir. Lorient vs Nice: prediction, betting odds and statistics.
Lorient
In the previous round, Lorient came through at home against Paris (2:0). In the two earlier rounds, the club faced semi-professional opponents away from home and dealt with them without any issues – Gosier (7:0) and O-Lyon (3:1). It is also worth noting that the home team have won six of their last seven matches in this tournament. Lorient last won the Coupe de France in 2002. Since then, the club have reached the semi-finals twice, while last season they went out early at the round of 32 stage.
- At least three goals were scored in five of the team’s last six Coupe de France matches.
- One of the teams failed to score in five of Lorient’s previous seven matches in this tournament.
- On home soil, the club have not lost in normal time in six of their last seven Coupe de France matches (four wins and two draws).
Potential Lorient Lineup (3-4-2-1)*

Nice
Nice have also come through three rounds in this season’s competition, but their opponents were far stronger – from the top two divisions in the country. At home, the away team edged past Saint-Etienne (2:1) and Montpellier (3:2), and away from home they laboured past Nantes (1:1, won on penalties 5:3). It is worth noting that in this century the club have reached the final once (in 2022). Last season, Nice went out in the round of 16, losing to the modest Stade Briochin (1:2).

Lorient vs Nice: Match Prediction
Interestingly, the two sides met only recently, on 22 February, and it finished in an entertaining 3:3 draw on Nice’s pitch. Their match in the first half of the Ligue 1 season was no less intriguing either, with Lorient beating their opponents 3:1. There is every chance the upcoming tie will also produce plenty of goals. We would recommend looking closely at both teams to score, and that bet has landed in six of the previous seven head-to-head meetings played in the league.
It is also worth noting that Lorient have looked excellent at home, where they have now gone 10 official matches without defeat. The club have scored in their last 15 home games across Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France. However, the hosts have conceded in eight of their last 11 official matches at their stadium. Nice have scored in 11 of their previous 16 away matches in official competitions, while the club have conceded in each of their last 28 official away games.
Prediction: Both teams to score – Yes
