Odds - Good

We calculated the margin for Afribet by analyzing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Low

From 5.01% to 7%: Normal

From 7.01% to 10%: High

Football

We got our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the over / under for different football leagues. Getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

Afribet has an overall average margin of 4.36% and falls in the low category. In the first section with Spanish La Liga and Seria A, the margin is at 4.24%. With Premier League and Championship, in the second section, the margin is at 4.36%. Finally, taking the Netherlands Eredivisie, Polish Ekstraklasa and Austrian Bundesliga into account, the margin is at 4.48%.

Range of Sports and Markets - Good

Afribet has a rich sports-book on their hands and they offer a wide variety of options for bettors to choose from. At the moment, Afribet Nigeria offers around 25 sports options in its sports-book. Of course, the common sports in Football, Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball and Hockey features. They also boast non-traditional sports like Cycling, Futsal, Handball, and Boxing. They also offer some not so common sports in the likes of Wintersports, Motorsports, Martial Arts and Snooker.

Occasionally, Afribet also offers to bet on non-related sports events like politics and entertainment you can choose from.

While they don't offer virtual gaming, esports, and casino games, they do have a rich pool of lottery options bettors can pick from. Easily one of the best bookmakers in the country in this regard. They have a wide range of lottery events from all over the world including countries like Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Russia, England, the United States and a host of others. The only African country to feature in this section is Zimbabwe.

The most popular sports on Afribet are Football and Basketball and you can notice the special preference with both sports featuring on the top menu on the homepage. For their football lovers, they offer matches included from over 50 countries on their sports-book.  These include both domestic and international competitions and punters can place bets on a lot of options from match-winner, first goalscorer, number of cards, handicaps and special options on offer.

Asides all of this, they also have a 'Punters Corner' where betting tips, latest events, and potential winning games are written on in detailed blog posts in this section. This mainly covers football, tennis, basketball, and hockey.

A big let-down though is the fact that they don't have a detailed statistics page like many bookmakers though and this can limit bettors choices before picking games as they would be limited to the info they know.

In-Play Betting - Good

Afribet surely offers the live-bet option as many of the bookmakers in Nigeria do. The 'Live-in-play' icon is pretty easy to spot on the website and can be seen at the top-left hand corner of the homepage.

Afribet boasts a lot of options in their live betting but a massive downgrade is a fact that it is monotonous. As at the time of writing, Afribet offers only football in their live betting and this is a massive area they have to improve on very quickly.

Although, the football live betting has pretty good in-play options like the number of exact goals, away goals, match bet totals, total home team and a whole lot of other exciting options to pick from.

As earlier said, this once again shows how overly football inclined Afribet is and why it can be good news to the football lovers, it surely doesn't appeal much to lovers of other sports.

Not surprisingly, they don't offer a live-streaming option but football lovers can follow the match action through 2d annotated dots that give a pictorial representation of what is actually going on in the game.

About the bookmaker

Afribet is one of the growing bookmakers in Nigeria. With their headquarters and the majority of their outlets starting out in Abuja, they are growing to be one of the most followed bookies in the country. Afribet is also licensed and regulated by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission. Although they have only one main method of deposit, their wide options in their sports-book cover largely for this deficit and still keeps them competitive with other bookies. Also, in terms of bookies who offer lotteries in Nigeria, Afribet is top guns in that regard and it is a distinctive feature that has set them apart to date. This has also helped them gain a certain number of customers as the lottery games are quite popular in the country.
